Art Scene Warehouse

The Art Scene Warehouse is nestled in the Suzhou Creek “artists' quarter” area of Shanghai, China. It is a chic, minimalist 1800 square meter space filled with avant- garde Chinese art by some of the most exciting contemporary artists from China.

Apart from contemporary Chinese art, the gallery also features work by international contemporary artists in an effort to present a global stage for artworks and to promote an international dialogue between Chinese artists and artists from the rest of the world. The space selected for the Warehouse underwent a total renovation in 2003. The venue now selected is very apt and is Art Scene China's second venue in Shanghai.

This is probably the largest gallery in China. It is a stunning, modern backdrop for artwork. The interiors of the gallery are worth a visit. The color chosen for the interior décor is white, which is a symbol of purity and cleanliness. The white gallery with white, square edged Bauhaus- style furniture looks like art itself is displayed against white walls.

Art Scene Warehouse regularly holds new exhibitions. The 1,800 square meters size of the space makes the Gallery unique because it can stage large- scale important exhibitions of 10+ artists, much like a museum but in a private space.
