City supermarket is a departmentalized self- service store offering a wide variety of food and household merchandise. Having a very convenient location close to the People's Square, this is one of the best shopping zones for imported goods.

They are stocked with products like detergents, baby food, fabrics and more. You can find brands that you may not find elsewhere. Although goods are exorbitantly priced, the market always seems to find loyal customers. Another branch is located at 939 Huaihai Zhonglu in the Luwan District.

The Portman Shanghai Centre on Nanjing XiLu, Puxi, was the first expat hub to be built in Shanghai and although 15 years old, it has never been usurped as the king of user- friendly convenience for westerners. The small but comprehensive supermarket in the Shànghai Centre is among the best places in town to pick up those Western foodstuffs you've been missing. It's pricey, but there's a nice selection.

This is the city's premier import grocery store which can be counted on for products you can't find anywhere else. It is loaded with heavy stocks of nylons, laundry detergent, corkscrews, even baby food. This is the largest self- service retail market that sells food and household goods.
