Alliance Francaise de Shanghai

Alliance Francaise de Shanghai offers a great variety of daytime and night- time courses seven days a week, from beginner's to advanced levels, including specific courses such as that of TEF preparation. The course is carried out for 450 hours of course time, as officially recommended for all student visa applications and specialized courses such as Business French, Civilization, Contemporary Literature, etc.

They provide free remedial courses of phonetics and grammar along with quite a few workshops, namely that of French Songs, French theatre, Creative writing and the World- known French Gastronomy.
Every Friday, at 6.30 pm, a well- known French film, with Chinese subtitles is screened. Alliance Francaise is also a cultural centre in which concerts, conferences, expositions, films and diverse cultural events are organized incessantly during the whole year. They have literature in French and Chinese, books on China, documents about cooking, tourism, sciences, a comprehensive counter of the French press, DVDs and audio CDs.

Alliance Francaise is the only place in Shanghai where you can read French newspapers and magazines and consult French books for free. It is open to all, students, to French speaking foreigners, French literature lovers or just patrons curious about France in all its aspects.
