Shanghai Science and Technology Museum

Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is an important base in Shanghai for science education and spiritual civilization construction. It is dedicated to science education with "Nature • Mankind • Technology" as its theme.

The Museum provides a gateway for scientific and technological education to the visitors. They have the Earth Exploration Section that brings experience of all kinds of geological change to visitors; Wide Spectrum of Life Section that showcases the topography of the rain forest, tropical plants and wonderful species and displays the mystery of being. Another remarkable visit can be had at the Children's Technoland where children can observe the outside world and participate in scientific activities.

Since its opening on Dec.18, 2001, the museum has been a hot destination for Shanghainese and visitors from all over. They have received about 4 million visitors, among which over 50 percent are young students. In this way, the museum has succeeded in popularizing scientific and technological education and displaying science and technology.
