The Short Answer
Never rely on Google Maps in mainland China (GPS coordinates are offset by 500m). Use Apple Maps on iOS or download Amap (高德地图, which now has a full English mode in Settings). Hail rides via the Didi mini-program inside Alipay.
- ▪Airport & Mall Didi Rule: Ride-hail cars cannot use taxi lanes at airports; follow signs to the Parking Garage “P1 / P2 Ride-Hailing Pickup Point”.
- ▪Anti-Scam Fare Check: PVG Airport to Bund/Jing’an is ¥160–¥220 on Didi or metered cab; Hongqiao Hub to Jing’an is ¥55–¥85. Ignore anyone soliciting rides inside arrivals.
